At The Norris Group, we believe in giving back and highlighting causes that matter. This month, we’re featuring an important initiative from Breakthrough T1D — a therapist-led support group designed for adults diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) later in life.

Why This Matters
Getting diagnosed with T1D as an adult isn’t just a medical change; it can shake your identity, relationships, and day-to-day life. That’s why this free support group, led by therapist Jodie Stein, MFT, is so valuable.
It’s a space for adults with adult-onset T1D to share, reflect, and heal without judgment, advice-giving, or trying to “fix” anything. Just real support.

Who It’s For
This group is exclusively for adults who were diagnosed with T1D as adults. It’s not designed for those diagnosed as children, parents of T1D kids, or those seeking medical or nutritional advice. It’s a support space — not a solutions space.

My son Mason was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 8th grade, a moment that changed our lives forever. Managing Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) requires constant vigilance—Mason relies on daily insulin and a strict routine to stay healthy. This journey has taught us the importance of resilience and the value of a supportive community, which is why we’re passionate about giving back.
I proudly support two incredible organizations that align with our mission to empower and uplift others. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation provides critical assistance to injured veterans, first responders, and their families, honoring their sacrifice with stability and support. Breakthrough T1D (JDRF) is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families managing Type 1 Diabetes by funding research, education, and advocacy for better treatments and, one day, a cure.
